So Today was the day that Alex's Visit to Germany came to an end. He departed from Frankfurt at 10:20 this morning. But let me back up to the last 4/5 days he was here.
Monday, we sat and talked and discussed what the rest of our week was going to look like trying to plan out our situation. We watched some movies played some cards.. Helped organize my Academics.. with knowing which classes I have yet still to take.. which surprisingly took a lot of our time. and i have a lot of work cut out for me.... but i can do it!!!
Tuesday- we decided it was our day trip.. we chose Frankfurt since it was close by and a big city with stuff to do. The train ride was a bit sketch but we made it there and all was safe and sound. Walked around a bit, I gave him the tour i gave my parents from memory - cuz I am just that good haha.. and then we had some starbucks because we needed to use the bathroom.. but it was a good investment then we walked around and shopped and eventually made our way back to Marburg to make dinner and just chill out :) It worked out quite nice
Wednesday - we walked into town and went grocery shopping for some stuff- we loved pb & bananas we ate them like they were going out of style. It is crazy. Then we ate a Doener. It was tasty we shared because they are huge.. Alex liked it but he said it could have gone with out the sauce. But I liked it.
Thursday- Alex's last full day in Marburg :( We got up ate breakfast then got dressed watched a movie played some cards and got ready and went out to eat at Paprica's- where we celebrated an anniversary early and my half birthday hahaha.. well it worked it was the 20th of January. We had auflauf again- yummm it hit the spot once again! Then we quickly did some shopping while waiting for the bus, like kleenex and bread. haha the essentials of life.
When we got back to my room we packed his suitcase and went through some of my stuff that I didn't need and then zipped it all up and weighted it and then set it to the side waiting for Fridays early departure. We did vacuum my room from all the dust and nasty spiders that I had alex kill for me. Thanks by the way :)
Then we played cards talked, looked at our pictures, and then later ate some snacks and tried to make it all the way until the first bus. We failed we had to take a 1-2 hour nap and then get ready to take the 5:07 bus to sudbahnhof.
And the rest is history we made it there and now he should be landing at his first point in about 45 min.
I can't believe how fast time can go - first with my parents those days flew and then with alex - just as fast.
I know they say when you grow up, life only goes faster.. but I really wish there was a way to dial it down and smell the roses. but I guess that's not they way life is.
On Feb 1st I will have made it 5 months. A little over half way- looking back on those first days in September, I remembering asking myself... what the heck did you get yourself into?? But I know now that this experience is one of the best in my life and it helps me learn quite a bit about myself and how I like to manage my life. I am excited for the next 4ish months to come and teach me again. But at this moment I am a bit stuck on sad mode - I know this is just a phase and will pass but it bugs me that I still allow it to occur. I must just mean My family and my friends mean the world and I can't picture myself without them, ever.
Thanks Love and Miss you - hope all is well
<3 Ris
